The Kindred Parts 1 & 2

I have to say I was really looking forward to these two episodes this year, but unfortunately I was a little bit disappointed with the outcome. For an Atlantis two-part episode the storyline seemed thin and only gave us a conclusion to the Authosians whereabouts.

However we did get Beckett back if only for a short time but the cloning idea did seem a little repetitive and the final scene in which Beckett is frozen seemed familiar but still done very well.

A good 7/10

New Plot details on Series Five's Broken Ties

Ronan meets up with an old friend Tyre from Series Four's Reunion who tells him that he has broken away from his Wraith captors and beaten there brainwashing. However when Ronan is captured by the Wraith, Col Sheppard and the team face a new problem 'Can Ronan be brainwashed into be coming a Wraith Worshiper'?

It was mentioned that Jason Momoa wanted to have an episode that would show his character going over to the dark side maybe this is the one. This will also be the episode that will see Ronan cutting off his dreadlocks as Jason has said that he has wanted to cut them off for some time.

New details on The Last Man

Some new details on "The Last man" have just been released and I have to say I'm really looking forward to it. Apparently Col Sheppard returns after an unsuccessful mission to find Teyla and finds Atlantis abandoned and instead of the ocean there are sand dunes as far as you can see. He comes across a hologram of a very old looking McKay telling him that he has been thrown forty thousand years into the future and the others suffered a terrible fate, but McKay has a plan to change all that.

If this is as good as it sounds then I think were in for a treat, I was a big fan of "1969" and "2010" from SG1 and it's sure to be good if it's as good as those two episodes. Even reading the Synopsis there are a few questions that you ask yourself like 'How old will McKay’s hologram look?' or 'What means did Col Sheppard use to be brought forty thousand years into the future?' and another probably the most important is 'What sort of horrible fate is McKay talking about in his message?’

The Last Man premiere's on Tuesday 11th March at 8PM on Sky One in the U.K.

S04E17 - Midway Review

Well after the last few average episodes of Atlantis I was beginning to think that Series Four had come to an end early, but to be fair as soon as you hear Teal'c and Ronan are going to be in the same episode you know were in for something special. And we were the interaction between the two was great and I really enjoyed the way Ronan learns towards the end of the episode that Teal'c isn't someone against him but as Col Sheppard says someone he can learn from.

Other great moments in this episode are the Ronan and Teal'c fight, which ends up in a draw and Kavanagh making an appearance and then the crucial mistake by activating the self-destruct.

Great solid episode 8 out of 10.

Richard Woolsey AKA Actor Robert Picardo is in charge from Series Five

The recent news that Robert Picardo's character IOA man Richard Woolsey will be the new commander of Atlantis in Series Five made a lot of fans wonder what the writers were thinking of considering his character was arrogant and a coward. To be honest to say he wasn't exactly the leadership type would be an understatement, however personally the writers so far have seemed to be right with there decisions so I'm willing to see how this turns out.

It now appears he will only be in 14 of 20 episodes so personally I find this good news as I don't think I could cope with the character’s behaviour for a full series. However it will be good to see what kind of effects this will have on Col Sheppard and the rest of the team throughout the series and if we will see any type of friction in the command decisions.

McGillion returns for five episodes of Atlantis

As most people know Paul McGillion who plays Doctor Carson Beckett returns next year for Five Episodes. I couldn't be more happy about this I've enjoyed his character from the very beginning and he brings some great humour and stands by his beliefs, I remember in the Episode Michael from Season Two he was one of the few who had serious reservations about turning the Wraith Michael into a Human.

Obviously he returns in the Series Four two-parter The Kindred coming up but the news that he is coming back for a much longer role next year is fantastic and the only downside is it's not for good.
